Leaving שבץ-טיב? Your week still has to be built.

From at least October 2025, Lantiv’s own site said a שבץ-טיב licence could no longer be bought in Israel. That notice has since been taken down, and שבץ-טיב 2027 is out as a download. Below: what the site said, what it says now, and what building your week in Schedula is like.

What Lantiv’s site said, and what it says now
התוכנה לא אושרה על-ידי משרד החינוך לשימוש בישראל החל משנת הלימודים תשפ״ו.
On Lantiv’s home page until at least January 2026: the software was not approved by the Ministry of Education for use in Israel from the תשפ״ו school year. The same section said marketing in Israel had been suspended and a licence could no longer be bought. That section is no longer on the site.
קוד ההרשאה הינו ייחודי למחשב ושנת לימודים והוא ניתן בכפוף לרישיון שימוש.
On Lantiv’s home page today, which offers שבץ-טיב 2027 as a download: the code you need to save your work is unique to one computer and one school year, and is issued subject to a usage licence.

The first sentence is from the Internet Archive’s copy of lantiv.co.il taken on 13 January 2026 (web.archive.org/web/20260113125218/https://lantiv.co.il/). The second is from lantiv.co.il, read on 3 October 2026; the page was last changed on 2 September 2026. שבץ-טיב is not among the nine timetable programs in the Ministry of Education’s catalogue for תשפ״ז, read on 2 October 2026. If any of this changes, tell us and we will correct it.

What you get instead

A teacher’s request is never granted at the cost of a class’s free hour.

Schedula first searches for the week with the fewest free hours stuck in the middle of a class’s day, locks the best it finds, and only then reads a single teacher request. So a teacher’s day off cannot be paid for with a class’s free hour: the stage that places teacher requests may only search inside what the students already won. Late starts are locked the same way, second. That is the default order, and your school can change it.

The loudest teacher stops winning.

Schedula does not chase the average, because an average lets one delighted teacher hide three unhappy ones. It lifts the teachers who got the least of what they asked for first, and holds a floor under them. Every teacher gets their own number: the share of what they asked for that they actually got.

It tells you what cannot work, with the fix beside it.

Before it builds anything, Schedula reads your numbers and names what cannot work: which class, which teacher, which hour, with the fix beside it. And a minimum number of lessons a day is a firm rule: it will refuse to build rather than quietly hand a class a two-lesson day. You exempt a day deliberately or not at all.

You can overrule it without breaking it.

Move a lesson and the rules are checked again before it lands. A move that would break one is stopped, and you are told which rule; a legal one shows what it costs before you commit. A level-group hour moves as a single piece, so you cannot half-move one. Undo works. You stay in charge of the week without the fear that fixing one thing quietly broke another.

The September argument becomes arithmetic.

When a teacher asks why someone else got their Friday, you have a figure for both of them, produced by the same rule. You are no longer defending a judgement call you made at midnight in August — you are reading out a number that was applied to all of them identically.

The week stops living on one computer.

שבץ-טיב runs locally on Windows. Schedula opens in a browser — the same current week from the office, from home, from a phone — with admin, editor and viewer on one shared school, and no per-machine code to renew in September.

Five questions worth asking before you sign anything

Every one of these is answerable about Schedula in a sentence. Put them to whoever you are paying now, and to us.

  1. When a teacher’s request is granted, can it ever leave a class sitting idle in the middle of the day? If the answer is “it’s weighted”, the answer is yes.

  2. What is the LOWEST teacher satisfaction score in my building — not the average?

  3. If my staffing cannot produce a legal week, when do I find out, and will it tell me which teacher and which hour?

  4. If I move one lesson in August, what stops me breaking a rule I set in June?

  5. Can two people work on the same week at the same time?

What you give up

  • שבץ-טיב runs with no internet connection at all. Schedula needs one — if your building drops, you cannot open the week.
  • It runs on a machine you control, and the file is yours. Moving to anything cloud-based genuinely changes where your school’s data sits, and that is a fair thing to ask us about before you move, not after.
  • It has been building Israeli school timetables for far longer than we have.

Questions schools ask

Can we keep using the copy we already have?

That is between your school and Lantiv, and we will not advise you on your licence. Lantiv’s site today says the code that lets you save is issued per computer and per school year, subject to a usage licence, so ask them what that means for the coming year.

Is Schedula on the Ministry of Education’s approved list?

No. Schedula is not one of the timetable programs the Ministry of Education approves. If your school must buy its timetable software from that list, talk to us before you plan around Schedula.

Can you bring our existing data across?

Tell us what you have — classes, teachers, curriculum hours — in whatever form it is in, and we will tell you honestly what imports and what has to be typed. We set the school up with you either way.

Is it in Hebrew?

Hebrew and English throughout, right to left included. Each teacher gets the form in their own language.

How long before we have a first week?

The build is automatic once the school is in. What takes time is getting the school in — classes, teachers, hours, and the rules you actually keep. We do that part with you rather than handing you an empty screen.

What does it cost?

Tell us the size of your school and we come back with a number. No per-machine code, nothing to renew each September.
